the new concept in speaker design using recycled tyres to create a custom made speaker cabinet

Our Mission

At Jollies Tyre Speakers, we are working to change the materials traditionally used in speaker construction. Most speakers today are made from plastic, wood, and other materials that can have a negative impact on the environment. Our idea is to replace these materials by using recycled tyres, turning waste into something useful and innovative.

By repurposing tyres, we are helping to reduce waste while creating a more environmentally friendly product for the 21st century. Instead of tyres ending up in landfill, they are transformed into high-quality speaker casings that are both durable and sustainable.

History

Celebrating 24 Years of Jollies – Innovation Born on St. Patrick’s Day

On 17th March, St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate 24 years of Jollies — a project that began with a simple but powerful idea: turning recycled tyres into something that looks great, sounds great, and keeps the spirit of recycling alive.

Back in 2002,  the concept was straightforward yet unique. By combining a recycled tyre with a speaker, we created something that instantly caught people’s attention. Not only did it look different from anything else on the market, it also carried a message — great design and sustainability can go hand in hand.

From that first idea, Jollies were born.

From Workshop Idea to Public Attention

What started as a creative recycling project soon began to attract interest from far beyond our workshop. One of the highlights of our journey was appearing on Ireland’s Dragons’ Den, where the originality of Jollies sparked huge curiosity and conversation.

People loved the idea — a product that was practical, eye-catching, and environmentally conscious all at once.

Evolving With the Times

Over the years, Jollies have continued to evolve. While the original concept remains the heart of the project, we’ve moved with technology and innovation.

Today, Jollies speakers are fully portable with Bluetooth capability, allowing you to take the sound wherever you go while still keeping the unmistakable recycled tyre design that makes them stand out.

It’s the same spirit of creativity — just with modern sound.

Taking Jollies on the Road

Our journey has taken us to some incredible places. We’ve proudly showcased Jollies at major venues and events across the UK, including:

  • Silverstone
  • Santa Pod Raceway
  • Birmingham NEC

Each event has brought new audiences, new conversations, and new appreciation for a product that proves recycling can be bold, creative, and fun.

24 Years of Creativity, Recycling and Sound

Reaching the 24-year milestone is something we’re incredibly proud of. What began as a simple idea — a tyre and a speaker — has grown into a project that has travelled the country, appeared on television, and continued to evolve with new technology.

But at its core, Jollies is still about the same thing it was on that St. Patrick’s Day in 2002:

Taking something old and giving it a new life — with great sound and a great look.

Here’s to 24 years of Jollies, and to many more years of creativity, recycling, and music.
